Home is Behind, the World Ahead

Well and do justice to Tolkien , here is a snippet of one of his poems. You can counter in The Fellowship of the Ring, the first book of The Lord of the Rings .

Home is behind, the world ahead, And There Are Many
paths to tread Through shadows
to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
'll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Shall Fade Away! Shall Fade Away!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And
Then to bed! And Then to bed!

- JRR Tolkien (1982-1973)

One of the reasons why I like the movie is highly regarded for the book. This poem became a song that appears in Return of the King, the third film. Here's the video:

Have you ever heard or read the following sentence?:

"And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by"

I've heard in several films and read in parts, by usually in quotes. After searching a bit, I found that prayer is a poem "Sea Fever" I put below: I Must

down to the seas again, to the lonely and the sky is,
And all I ask is to tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking, And a gray mist
on the sea's face, and a gray dawn breaking. Must I

down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide Is a wild call
and a clear call That May Not Be Denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying, And the
flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I Must down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way Where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream When the long trick's over.

- John Masefield (1878-1967)

When I first heard, I thought it was a quote from Tolkien do not know why but I imagined a Númenórean making a request to the Valar. You have some epic it is.
