First of all, sorry for taking so long to post but you know, end of quarter, pending jobs and other etceteras. To dust off the blog, here I put a poem by Mario Benedetti , someone recommended me now that I walked Morelia. And speaking of Morelia, the next post will be about the city, well, actually, on which was accidentally ENC'2007 in Morelia. Well, here I leave, Conversely is entitled.
afraid I have to see
need to see you hope to see you see you annoyances. I have wanted to find you
concern certainty find you find you find you doubt poor. I have an urgent
joy to hear you good luck hear hear hear and fears. is, I'm fucked
summarizing and radiant
perhaps more the former than the latter
and vice versa.
- Mario Benedetti (1920 -)
For here can find more poems. In a few days promise to publish everything that walks by the fountain.
MyHeritage.com In have an application that tells you what you look like famous or popular. And not only will generate an image, it also makes you a video. Please believe me I look like Gareth Gates , check the video below:
TinySOA + RFID is a system created as course project for Computer Mobile and Ubiquitous in CICESE. Basically, it integrates RFID technology in the implementation that had to TinySOA . Thus, the system now provides a specialized API (based on Web services) to read and write information to RFID tags.
Once developed the system, it became necessary to demonstrate its utility by creating an application. As the idea was to support ubiquitous computing, it was decided to make an application to augmented reality (for this I used ARToolKit, which incidentally is highly recommend). This video was taken from the output to the lens of augmented reality (the shots that have the goal box).
The idea of \u200b\u200bthe application is as follows: in a distribution line will be going through boxes of product. These boxes are closed and the product is highly dependent on weather conditions in the room where you drive. The operator will be watching through augmented reality, virtual representation of the boxes shows a cylinder which indicates the current room temperature (this is obtained by a sensor network), a representation of the content of what is in and maximum and minimum temperatures that supports the product (this information is stored in an RFID tag carrying the box). When the temperature exceeds or is below the allowable range, the virtual box begin to glow red to indicate to the operator the problem.
TinySOA is an open-source project and soon hopefully we can publish on its Web site: www.tinysoa.net (and let you know when you're ready).
Updated: A magazine article with all the information about TinySOA was accepted and is at the moment, available online at the following address: http://dx .doi.org/10.1007/s11761-009-0043-x
Ladies and gentlemen, what a surprise today morning to go to Google Maps and see the streets of Ensenada (and other cities in Mexico) and plotted. Although I could not see if the address search function, if so, my respect Google.
Last night Luciano Pavarotti died that was considered "the greatest tenor of all time." Although I already had the idea that was not going to see live, I still had some hope. The closest I was when he came to the Laguna Salada in Mexicali beyond October 2003 and could not go. Now I'll have to settle for view by other means (eg YouTube). So in memoriam included two of his videos.
The first is Nessun Dorma, an aria from the opera Turandot of Puccini . Many consider it the "seal" Pavarotti although there are some purists who say it is best to sing.
Finally, as a curiosity, this morning I saw an interview in which Pavarotti night commented that "romantic" of his career was at a concert in Chichen Itza . This by the atmosphere created by the pyramid and the full moon (another concert that I was not).
This past Saturday finally married to Ivan (I will miss Mr. Slim ) and for those who could not attend the wedding (for that conference , lack of funds and others) here's the video of the waltz, shooting in the field (without a corresponding draft league for the lack of single women) and a jam session Moderatto of the couple.
I just found this article that I find interesting:
Flash Is Better Than Java? ZDNet by 's Ed Burnette - Over the past FEW years alternatives to Java in and around the browser Have Been Gaining traction, Especially Macromedia Flash. Using Flex and ActionScript, you CAN write sophisticated desktop or browser-hosted interactive business applications. So is it time to toss out your webtop Java code? Basically
an analysis of what is best for use on the Web, a Java applet or Flash movie . Personally I prefer Flash for the web, why?, Because it has many benefits including:
Scope. Although many systems are already prepared with skills to show Java applets sometimes these are blocked or disabled by users, while there are a lot of users ready to use Flash.
speed. Ever has blocked a little browser when an applet?, Machine Flash starts quickly and uses few resources.
Antialias. Flash handles antialiasing. Which gives us a very good reabilidad.
embedded content. Flash handles vector images and video. And all this dynamically, does not mean that Java is not just that Flash handles them natively and in a much more efficient. Does
Flash disadvantages against Java?, Yes, and some very important
Programming: Programming in Flash involves learning a new language (ActionScript). Besides the learning curve is somewhat steep.
Integration: programming in Java can access many services offered by systems that may not be available online ( legacy systems). Although for Internet connection services in Flash has the advantage.
I think Flash has already proven to be the best choice for web content because who has not seen a banner in Flash at least 10 times a day? or who did not see a Flash video in the week?.
I recently came across Picnik, an online image editor which I think is pretty good, I was surprised that was programmed in Flash (and got me interested to learn ActionScript), I recommend it.
Nota Bene: 'm not against Java, is my "horse" battle for desktop applications. Although we'll see what can be done with Adobe Apollo .
